Yeah I finished that novel you mentioned last week and I have to say it was quite different from what I expected. The pacing in the middle section dragged a bit but the character development made up for it. The way the author described the coastal town really reminded me of that place we visited a few years ago. I kept thinking about how the main character's choices reflected real dilemmas people face when they have to choose between stability and adventure. The ending was ambiguous which I normally do not prefer but in this case it worked well because it stayed true to the story's themes. If you liked that one you should try reading her earlier work which has a similar style but with a tighter plot. I can lend you my copy if you want. The library had a waitlist for it so I just bought it instead. Let me know what you think when you finish it.

The tomato plants I started from seed this year are finally producing more than I can keep up with. I tried a new method where I buried the stems deeper when transplanting and the root systems ended up much stronger than last year. The cherry tomato variety is doing especially well and I have been giving bags to neighbors. I learned that you need to water consistently or the fruits split open which happened to a few of my larger ones. Next season I want to try growing them in raised beds instead of containers to see if there is a difference in yield. I also noticed that the basil I planted nearby seemed to help with pest control although I cannot say for certain if that is what made the difference. Have you had any luck with your vegetable garden this year? I remember you mentioning you were trying peppers and eggplant. Let me know how yours are coming along.
