I think you should try the route that goes along the river instead of the main road. It adds maybe ten minutes to the drive but the scenery is much nicer and there is less traffic to deal with. The pavement is in good condition all the way through and there are a few places where you can pull over if you want to take a break. I drove it last week and noticed they repaved the stretch near the bridge so it is smooth now. There is also a small market about halfway where you can pick up drinks or snacks if needed. Let me know if you decide to take that route and I can point out a few spots worth stopping at along the way. The weather should cooperate based on what I saw in the forecast so it should be a good day for a drive.

Sample Steak Collection Offered Through Program

500 gourmet boxes, each ordinarily valued over $600, are provided at no charge to eligible participants.

Omaha Steaks is making available a curated gourmet sampler for eligible households. Every cut is hand-selected and flash-frozen to preserve its natural flavor and tenderness. The entire cost of the sampler is covered under this program, so those who qualify will not be billed. One sampler per household is allotted, with 500 boxes designated for this distribution.

Each cut is selected for its quality and then flash-frozen to maintain freshness. The program closes tomorrow, so those interested are encouraged to learn more.

You asked about the marinade I used for the chicken last week. I combined olive oil with lemon juice and a few crushed garlic cloves then added some dried oregano and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it sit for about an hour before cooking and it turned out pretty well. You could also add some rosemary if you have it on hand. I find that letting the meat rest at room temperature for a bit before cooking helps it cook more evenly. Just do not leave it out too long. Let me know if you try it and what you think of the results. I usually serve it with a simple side of roasted vegetables or a green salad and it works well with either option.
