Around the same time, across town, the British ambassador is hosting a pre-party in advance of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner: Inferno Edition.
You heard that right. The dinner is back and being held Friday night, with the April original having been canceled due to a shooting attempt.
The dinner is no longer being held at the Hilton, which now boasts the distinction of being the site of not one, but two presidential-level assassination attempts. Our bravest members of the Washington press corps will sweat through their tuxedos in the basement of the Waldorf Astoria instead.
