It's going to be a beautiful Friday, and the road back to the Super Bowl begins now. We'll be following updates out of Patriots training camp. Other news includes an apparent road rage shooting in Hingham, and the jury selection for Lindsay Clancy's trial is complete. Plus, how long will this sunny weather last? I'm Kaitlin McKinley Becker, and these are your headlines.

After weeks of FIFA fever at “Boston Stadium,” Gillette Stadium is back, and so, too, is Patriots football. The road back to the Super Bowl begins now, and the reigning AFC champs are ready to go.

There are so many story lines heading into this new season for the New England Patriots. There was a little offseason drama but Head Coach Mike Vrabel seems poised and ready to lead this team for a second year. He’s scheduled to speak to the media at 11:30 a.m. today.

Other story lines to watch include Cornerback Christian Gonzalez, who wants a new contract. It’s unclear how long that will linger into camp. We’ll be keeping an eye on that dispute.

A man was injured after firing his gun at a driver during an apparent road rage incident at the parking lot of the public library in Hingham, Massachusetts, Thursday, police said.

The driver who was shot at fled and hadn’t been located as of Thursday evening, according to Hingham police. The injured driver wasn’t shot and was expected to survive.

Two gunshots were reported in the Hingham Public Library parking lot on Leavitt Street about 4:22 p.m., police said. Officers learned that a passenger in one vehicle, who had a license to carry a firearm, opened fire on the other.

Jury selection was completed Thursday in the trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts, mother who strangled her three children while undergoing medical treatment for psychiatric problems that developed after she gave birth.

Seventeen of the 18 jurors needed had been selected by the end of the day Wednesday, but two of hem dropped out Thursday. Three new jurors were selected Thursday, leaving the total at 18.

Opening statements are are expected to get underway on Monday.

An area of high pressure will continue building over New England on this Friday, giving way to sunny skies and low humidity.

High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to near 80 along the coast due to the sea breeze. MetroWest temperatures will be a tad warmer, reaching the low to mid 80s.

The developer of Tuscan Village in Salem, New Hampshire is seeking formal approval to scrap yearslong plans to build roughly 1.2 million square feet of life sciences space.  

Instead, Tuscan Brands is aiming to include more residential units and parking spaces in the development’s West Village District. Tuscan Brands also outlined plans to build a bank and two office buildings, while slightly scaling back last year’s plans for a hotel, restaurants, and medical office buildings.

Steve Kerrigan, the chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party, was arrested for drunken driving last month in Southborough.

Court records show that Kerrigan, 54, of Lancaster, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation on June 13. He pleaded no contest at a hearing in Westborough District Court on June 15, and the case was continued without a finding for a year. He also lost his driver’s license for 45 days.

NBC10 Boston reached out to Kerrigan for comment on the arrest. He released the following statement:
