BATTING LEADOFF

Well, that was fun while it lasted.

The Red Sox' 15-game win streak changed the trajectory of the team, and for the foreseeable future, but the magic carpet ride could have ended sooner.

The Red Sox didn’t need to pull many rabbits out of the proverbial hat. During this win steak, the Sox followed a basic script: Get ahead early and keep the lead.

The ho-hum nature of the majority of their wins did not subtract from the suspenseful ones.
