We are thrilled to announce that Mr. James Koontz will join us as the new Assistant Principal at Silverbrook effective August 7, 2026. Mr. Koontz is entering his 18th year in Fairfax County Public Schools. He has a Master’s in Elementary Education from Marymount University and a Postgraduate Certificate in K-12 Administration from the University of Virginia. His experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, STEAM teacher, math coach, and School-Based Technology Specialist. He has also served in administrative roles as an ESY Site Administrator and most recently as an interim AP here at Silverbrook. His core belief is that every child deserves a safe, inclusive environment where they are known, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Please join us as we welcome Mr. James Koontz to our Silverbrook family.
