This summer, commercial peony producers around Alaska are dealing with barren fields following late snowfall and high winds in the winter, plus an unusually cold spring.
A state agency spokesperson put his hand on a TV news crew’s camera to block it while a reporter attempted to question Alaska’s elections director about her decision to not list a U.S. Senate candidate’s party affiliation on the ballot.
The state removed 3,048 Alaskans from its active voter list, claiming they may be noncitizens, but many of the removals appear to have affected citizens who were erroneously flagged by the DMV.

It's mostly sunny today with a high near 68 degrees. Looking ahead to the weekend, we'll be enjoying a short break from recent rainy weather. The forecast calls for sunny skies and highs in the low 70s on Saturday and Sunday, before rain returns on Monday.
