Honestly I meant to reply to you yesterday but the whole afternoon just slipped away. I got caught up reorganizing the pantry shelves and then somehow ended up watching a documentary about migratory birds for two hours. Anyway, to answer what you asked about the weekend, I think we should keep it fairly simple. Maybe just head out early, grab something warm to drink, and then see where the morning takes us. No need to overplan every single minute. I have been wanting to check out that little trail near the old orchard, though. Someone mentioned the wildflowers are starting to come through along the fence line. That could be really nice if the weather holds. If it gets too windy, we can always come back and just play a few rounds of cards at the kitchen table. I am also fine with doing absolutely nothing for a while. Sometimes the best kind of day is one where you do not have to be anywhere at any particular time. Let me know what sounds good to you. I will bring the thermos and maybe a blanket just in case we decide to sit somewhere for a bit. We should probably bring extra socks too, because that path can get damp near the lower section. Anyway, no pressure either way. Just thought it would be good to spend some time outside if the sky stays clear. Talk to you later this evening when I get settled.

Okay so I finally made it over to the library today and actually found that book you were talking about. It was on the second floor next to the oversized reference section. I flipped through a few pages while waiting for the elevator and it does look pretty interesting. I ended up checking out two others as well because the cover art caught my eye. One is about the history of roadside diners and the other is a collection of essays about small town life. I doubt I will finish all of them before they are due back, but that is usually how it goes. Speaking of due dates, I completely forgot about the audio book on my account until I got the reminder message this morning. I renewed it online and now I have two more weeks, so that is one less thing to worry about. I also picked up a few packets of wildflower seeds from the little shop next door because they were on the shelf right by the front window and I could not help myself. They had a mix with poppies and cornflowers that looked really cheerful on the packet. I will probably scatter them along the back edge of the yard this week if the wind stays calm. Otherwise they will end up in every corner of the neighborhood. Let me know if you want me to grab you a couple packets next time I stop in. The shopkeeper said they just got a fresh delivery this morning and some of the newer varieties are going fast. Anyway, that is my update for now. Hope your afternoon has been going well and that the kitchen project is not giving you too much trouble. I will talk to you later tonight about the weekend.
