Hey there - sorry for the slow reply! I got caught up in a long call and then realized I'd left my coffee in the other room for a full hour. You know how it goes when the day just runs away from you.

Anyway, I wanted to tell you about that bakery I found over the weekend. It's tucked between a bookshop and a tiny plant store, and honestly the whole block smells like cinnamon and fresh bread by eight in the morning. We shared a table with someone's very friendly dog who absolutely insisted on getting half my croissant. I didn't even mind.

Have you ever tried baking focaccia at home? I attempted it last Tuesday and the top came out so golden it looked like a painting, but the inside was slightly under. Still, with a little olive oil and flaky salt it was surprisingly good. The kitchen smelled incredible for the rest of the night.

Next time you're free, we should take a long walk somewhere with big trees and no real plan. I think we both need more of those aimless afternoons. The kind where you end up talking about old songs and what we wanted to be when we were ten. Nothing serious, just good air and better company.

Oh - and I found a podcast about the history of public libraries that's way more interesting than it sounds. It's got these surprisingly funny episodes about the people who built the first reading rooms. I'll send it over later today if I can remember which app it was on.

Talk soon, and try not to let the morning zoom meetings win again tomorrow.

So I completely forgot to tell you about that little neighborhood concert I wandered into last Thursday. It was one of those pop-up things in a courtyard with string lights and folding chairs, and the whole thing felt like something out of a film. The musicians were local and kept making jokes between songs, and at one point everyone started singing along to a song I'd never heard before.

I ended up staying until the very end, even though my feet were freezing and I'd promised myself I'd be in bed by ten. Worth it, honestly. There's something about live music outside that makes the rest of the week feel lighter.

On my way home I stopped at that little corner shop that sells oddly specific imported sodas. I picked one with a label that looked hand-drawn and it tasted like grapefruit and something floral - I can't decide if I liked it or not, but I've been thinking about it ever since. Sometimes the weird ones stick with you more than the safe choices.

Let me know when you want to do another board game afternoon. I finally figured out the rule I kept messing up last time, so I'm ready for a rematch. And no, I will not be going easy on you just because it's a lazy weekend.

Also, if you happen to see any good clouds this evening, take a picture. The ones yesterday looked like they'd been painted with a palette knife, all streaky and soft. I tried to describe them in a text and gave up after three attempts. Some things you just have to see for yourself.
