Hey - thanks for getting back to me about the weekend. I totally spaced on the park plan. Saturday morning works better for me since I have that thing in the afternoon.

I was thinking we could meet near the north entrance around nine thirty. The trail loop usually takes about an hour and a half at a relaxed pace, so we will still have time to grab coffee after before you head out.

I borrowed my neighbor's old binoculars last week and they are surprisingly good for bird watching. Last time I spotted a pair of red-tailed hawks circling near the ridge. I will bring them along so you can try them out.

Also, I finally finished that book you recommended. The one about the lighthouse keeper. I was not expecting the ending at all, but the way the author tied the letters back into the early chapters was really clever.

Let me know if you want to bring anyone else along. My cousin might join if his schedule clears up. He has been looking for an excuse to get outside more. We can keep it flexible either way.

So I was talking to my brother the other day and he mentioned the community garden near his place is accepting new plot applications. I thought that might interest you since you were asking about growing tomatoes.

He said the waitlist is not bad this year. They had a few open spots after the spring turnover. Apparently the people who had plots near the back fence moved out of town.

The only rule I found slightly odd is that you have to attend one orientation session before they hand over the keys to the shed. It is mostly just going over watering schedules and compost bins.

I might apply for a small plot myself. Nothing too ambitious. Maybe some herbs and a couple of pepper plants. My balcony does not get enough direct sun for much else.

Anyway, if you want to go check it out together sometime next week, I can drive. They have open hours on Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning. Just let me know what works.
