Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the garden actually. The tomatoes finally started coming in this week and it honestly feels like the wait was worth it. We had too much rain in early spring so everything got pushed back.

I think the cucumbers are a lost cause this year though. They got some kind of patchy leaf thing and just slowed down to almost nothing. I might pull them out next weekend and put in something quick like bush beans.

Did you ever figure out what to do with that corner spot by the fence? I remember you said it gets morning shade but still holds heat in the afternoon. Could be good for some herbs if you keep them off the ground.

I told my brother about the deer situation and he swears by mixing soap shavings into a spray bottle with water. I have not tried it yet but he says he has not lost a single hosta since he started doing that. Might be worth a shot before you build any kind of fence.

Anyway we should catch up properly soon. Let me know if you want to grab coffee or just walk around the park one evening. I can do Tuesday or Thursday after six.

I think the best part of last week was actually just the quiet afternoon on Sunday when we did nothing and the dog slept on the porch. Sometimes those days are needed more than the busy ones.

The new coffee shop on the corner has a nice window seat, but the place gets pretty warm by noon because of the glass. I still prefer the small bakery two blocks over because their iced tea is actually strong.

I finally returned that stack of library books that had been sitting on my desk since April. The librarian gave me a look but she also said one of them now has two holds on it, so at least someone else wants it.

My sister has been practicing watercolor painting in the evenings and she sent me a photo of a little bird she did. It looked less like a bird and more like a fuzzy potato, but everyone has to start somewhere I suppose.

I might start a new audiobook on the commute this week. I have not decided which one yet, but something with a good narrator makes all the difference. Let me know if you have any suggestions from your list.
