Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Timeline

The conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians reflects a long-standing struggle in the region encompassing the land between the Jordan River to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. Tensions over territorial, religious, and political issues date back nearly a century and have repeatedly boiled over into open warfare. This timeline explores some of the pivotal moments in the conflict from 1947 to today.

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty

From Iran to North Korea, the topic of nuclear capabilities has been in the news plenty this summer.

The Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons, known commonly as the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT), is a landmark international treaty and the foundation of international nuclear nonproliferation policy.

This resource will give your students the background on the NPT and how countries that are party to the NPT are continuously working to improve it with the goal of diminishing or eliminating the spread of nuclear weapons.

Women in Power: Fighting for Democracy in an Age of Authoritarianism (Book Guide)

Did you know that CFR Education offers book guides for 80 books by CFR fellows and authors to help educators incorporate them into their classes?

The latest is for Women in Power: Fighting for Democracy in an Age of Authoritarianism by Linda Robinson, the Senior Fellow for Women and Foreign Policy. The book explains how the global democratic crisis is entwined with the backlash against women in politics—and how women leaders are fighting back against misogynistic authoritarianism and weaponized digital attacks to create more resilient democracies.

CFR Education's lesson plans are being refreshed to better reflect our commitments to student-centered learning, civil discourse, and global affairs literacy. Our new, AI-resilient lesson plans offer structured discussions, collaborative activities, policy design workshops, and community-grounded reflections so that students don't just learn about global issues, but actively engage with them.
