Board Restores High School Crossing Guards in FY 2026 Carryover Package

• The Board of Supervisors approved funding to restore 11 crossing guard positions at 10 Fairfax County high schools.
• The FY 2026 Carryover Package also includes funding for pedestrian and bicycle improvements, parks, public safety vehicles, libraries and other county needs.

Fairfax Forward: Highlighting Achievements, Success and Innovation

Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services works diligently to strengthen families by involving fathers and father figures. Research shows that fathers play an important role in how children grow and develop and how families work together. Our Father Engagement Unit is now integrated with staff in our Parenting Education Programs to expand the reach and impact of the program in our community. They partnered with regional groups and the Virginia Department of Social Services to plan a robust Fatherhood Engagement Month recognizing and supporting fathers across the state.
