OpenAI has acquired Glass Imaging, a startup founded by former Apple engineers that uses AI-powered hardware and software to improve smartphone camera quality, in a deal reportedly valued at more than $300 million. Glass Imaging joins a series of recent acquisitions by OpenAI, signaling the company's intent to expand its capabilities in both hardware and software, particularly in the consumer device space.

Meta is reportedly developing camera-free smart glasses codenamed Luna to address privacy concerns surrounding its camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
