My dear Iza,
I want to invite you to something very close to my heart.
But first, I want to ask you a question.
Who taught you how to become a woman?
Not how to become successful.
Not how to be a good mother, partner, daughter or professional.
Not how to work harder, achieve more, hold everything together and keep going when you are exhausted.
Who taught you how to live as a woman?
How to listen to your body.
How to trust your intuition.
How to move through your emotions without being ruled by them.
How to inhabit your sensuality.
How to access your feminine power without hardening.
How to know when to act and when to surrender.
How to stay connected to yourself when life around you becomes difficult.
For so many women, the answer is: No one.
We were taught how to function in the world.
But very few of us were ever initiated into womanhood.
And I believe this is one of the great losses of modern feminine life.
Because when a woman loses her connection with herself, she doesn't only lose access to her femininity.
She can lose her direction, her vitality, her sensuality, her creativity and her inner knowing.
She can build an entire life and still find herself thinking:
Why don't I feel alive?
Why do I feel so disconnected from myself?
What does being feminine actually mean?
Who am I underneath everything I have learned to be?
This is why, after all these years, the Rite of Passage into the Mature Feminine remains one of the pieces of work closest to my heart.
It gives a woman something most of us were never given:
A map home to herself.
On October 3rd, another group of women will reach the end of this extraordinary journey.
I feel emotional every time we arrive here.
Because I remember the women who entered the circle.
And then I look at the women standing before me at the end.
I see women who have stopped allowing their wounds to define their lives.
Women who have healed parts of the Little Girl who once made their choices from fear, abandonment or trauma.
Women who have found their center, their bodies, their sensuality, heir voice and heir wisdom.
And something beautiful begins to happen when all of that energy that was once tied up in surviving becomes available for living.
Creativity returns.
Desire returns.
Life begins to flow.
One woman began writing and has now written three books.
Others have changed careers, created businesses or returned to their art because their creative energy was no longer being suppressed.
Women have found the courage to leave relationships that had been over for years.
Others have transformed the way they love and relate.
They have learned to provide, lead, create and make powerful decisions without having to become harder and harder to survive.
But there is one woman's story I carry particularly close to my heart.
She came to this work carrying trauma that began when she was raped at only four years old.
At 74, after a lifetime of caring for others, including caring for her husband through severe Alzheimer's, something changed.
She didn't stop loving her family.
She didn't abandon her responsibilities.
She stopped abandoning herself.
She chose a home of her own, close to the sea.
She swims. She experiences freedom. She has given herself permission to begin again.
At 74.
A life with room for her, free, joyful, fully self expressed.
This is why I believe it is never too late for a woman to cross a threshold.
And it is why I believe a Rite of Passage is important for every woman, not only the woman who is struggling.
Not only the woman who is healing trauma.
Not only the woman whose relationship is falling apart.
Even the woman who has created a beautiful family, a successful career and a life that looks wonderful from the outside can still be deeply disconnected from herself.
Because achievement does not initiate us into the Feminine.
Success does not teach us how to inhabit ourselves.
A Rite of Passage does something different.
It asks:
What if you stopped living only from who you learned you needed to become?
What if you healed the Little Girl instead of allowing her wounds to keep making your choices?
What if you no longer needed the rebellious Adolescent to fight life?
What if you discovered the Mature Woman inside you?
The woman who is centred, sensual, alive, compassionate, creative, intuitive, wise, powerful.
And deeply connected to herself.
This is the woman we celebrate on October 3rd.
And I would love you to join us.
For this special evening, we are opening our circle.
You will witness the completion of another Rite of Passage into the Mature Feminine.
We will talk about initiation and why these thresholds matter so deeply in a woman's life.
I will share with you the path of the Rite of Passage and what happens when a woman consciously begins to decondition the ways she has learned to live disconnected from herself.
YES, I WANT TO JOIN THE CIRCLE.
October 3rd, you will have the opportunity to experience your own first step into her.
To sit inside the circle, connect and feel.
Come curious.
Come open.
Come exactly as you are.
And perhaps, while celebrating the women who have completed their initiation, you will hear a quiet voice inside you whisper:
I am ready for mine.
I would be honoured to celebrate with you.
With all my love,
