Isaias makes landfall along the US Gulf Coast as a dangerous Category 2 hurricane

The first Atlantic hurricane of the 2026 season made landfall near Destin, Florida, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center said. The storm weakened to just below major hurricane status before it came ashore.
