Hello,
Your gut has been working hard for you your whole life. The ecosystem inside it — called our gut microbiome or just "gut biome" — changes over time. So let's give it some attention to keep you feeling your best!
Give this a shot:
-
Focus on fiber: Foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, and fermented foods (think yogurt, kimchi, or sauerkraut) help keep your microbiome diverse and healthy.
-
Try the "Eat More Plants" Challenge. For one week, track how many different plants you eat. Fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, legumes, and grains all count. See how many varieties you can add!
-
Try this favorite of mine — a colorful power salad! No cooking necessary. Just layer, mix a variety of vegetables, and enjoy a colorful, gut-friendly meal in minutes. Visit Nutrition.gov/recipes to search for a variety of salads!

And as always, don't forget to schedule your yearly "Wellness" visit. It's the perfect time to talk with your doctor about your digestive health, discuss any symptoms or concerns you may have, and update your personal prevention plan to keep your gut — and your whole body — feeling its best.

Here's to a healthier gut, and a healthier you!
Stay well,
