Good day, Veterans!
As we enter the fall season, I want to take a moment to remind you about an important step you can take to protect your health and the health of those around you: getting your annual flu vaccine.
The flu can lead to serious illness and complications, particularly for older adults and people living with certain chronic health conditions. Getting vaccinated each year can help reduce your risk of severe illness and hospitalization and can help protect the people around you.
At the Columbia VA, we have made getting your flu vaccine convenient. Veterans can receive an influenza vaccine during primary care, Community-Based Outpatient Clinic or specialty appointments. Walk-in vaccination hours are also available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Our commitment is to provide exceptional care to every Veteran, every time. Preventive care is an important part of that commitment, and getting your annual flu vaccine is one simple way to take an active role in protecting your health.
I encourage you to watch the short video our executive leadership team put together for more information about flu vaccination and the options available to you.
Thank you for trusting the Columbia VA with your health care. I wish you and your families a safe, healthy and enjoyable October.
Sincerely,
Bryan E. Arnette, FACHE Executive Director/CEO
